“For the last year and a half it has been very difficult for me to consistently stay physically active & motivated. With my brain being occupied by the day to day responsibilities of being an adult + maintaining normal life, I feel that much of my self image had turned negative with the sedentary changes in my lifestyle. Up until Christmas of this past year I had listened to countless podcasts, TED talks, various Internet forums in search of a speck of inspiration that could light my fire… And it wasn’t until a very powerful book stumbled upon my path that I was finally able to take my first step. After reading Jen Sincero’s “You Are A Badass”, it became clear to me that I stand in my own way. My negative feelings of self doubt were keeping me from reaching that healthy mindset, and ultimately, my true potential. I can happily say, that since finishing “BADASS’, I haven’t missed a day of walking & have actually discovered many outdoor parks / locations in my city I had never been aware of. With all of that to say, I wasn’t able to take change in my own routine until I diagnosed the reason I have issues committing to my own wellness. Hitting my 10,000 steps everyday feels like a hug to myself after a day of others taking what they need from me. It starts now. And I have no regrets about starting “late”… because at the end of the day, I just went for it.” BE Nashville
